President, TJX Europe
Michael joined TJX Europe in 2000 from a UK high street retailer.
He began his career at TJX Europe as a merchandise planner and worked his way through a successful seventeen-year career in planning and buying, to become SVP buying director at the end of 2016. Over that time, Michael held a range of different leadership roles, including two years in Germany leading the TK Maxx planning function there.
In 2018, Michael became the SVP group director of merchandising & ecommerce and led the online tkmaxx.com business to success through a time of great change.
In 2020, Michael became chief operating officer and alongside driving operational excellence, was instrumental in guiding the business through the numerous logistical and operational challenges of the pandemic. Since June 2022, Michael has been President of TJX Europe.
Michael is a true advocate of off-price and the workings of the TJX model, with a deep knowledge of the business and how it works. He is passionate about delivering commercial success through pragmatism combined with curiosity and is a keen innovator. Michael is a strong advocate for the company’s people strategies, committed to teaching and development and continuing to build and uphold a culture of inclusion and engagement.
